Feng Shui Architecture

Feng Shui is the ancient system of laws surrounding the flow of energy and uses energy forces to harmonize individuals with their surrounding environment. The term Feng Shui literally translates as "wind-water" in English. The Feng Shui practice discusses architecture in terms of "invisible forces" that bind the universe, earth, and humanity together, known as qi. In examining the history of Feng Shui in architecture, we consider ancient mosaics that contain an astrological star map of the Dragon and Tiger asterisms, which suggests that gaitian cosmography (heaven-round, earth-square) existed in ancient philosophy (4000 BC).

In incorporating the fundamental universal principles of Feng Shui through architecture we focus on the design principles of open light, minimalism and harmonizing space through architectural modernism. The interior design and architectural team for Phase II, 13200 Mulholland Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 received guidance from a renowned Feng Shui Master and incorporated these ancient spiritual recommendations into the design renderings of the mansion, honoring universal harmony of Scandinavian minimalism, open space and natural light through contemporary architectural design.
